Happy Feet Foot Spa at 3731 El Camino Real, Palo Alto, California.

Good price, NOT a foot massage place, not well trained for massage they do do.

We had aching feet from a weekend walking in the city.
We decided to give this place a try.

They ONLY take cash, so we nearly just left, but found enough scraps of money to stay.

Had we seen the massage area prior to paying, we'd likely have left.

Where we were taken was one big room, just off the lobby. We were actually shushed in the lobby because of the lack of intent for this set up to be for massage. Just chatting with the check in guy was too noisy for the adjacent room.

Once in, there were only massage type beds--perhaps 8--with all people getting massage in the same room.

The reason I nearly bolted at this point was there were NO chairs as you'd expect in a foot rub situation.

Despite the name of the place being Happy Feet, they didn't seem set up for foot rubs.

I nearly bolted, but quickly checked the reviews, which were were moderate, and the price seemed reasonable, so we stayed.

Of the hour we paid for, there was no more than 15 minutes of massage on my feet, if that, and it was pitiful.

I could have given a 10X better version.

It was mostly someone rubbing on the sides of my feet.
Why I hoped to realize later, but I never did.

The massage was very untrained generally, and again, we hadn't come for a body massage.

At the end the two greeted us on exit with reminders of tipping. Communication issues meant that didn't even go smoothly.
I pointed out that I'd normally tip, but the cash ONLY set up had cleaned us out on the way in.

Anyway, I suppose if you stumble upon someone there that is good, the price would keep you coming back.

I can only say the clerk who greeted us later did my massage, and I doubt he'd had any real training. The person I was in felt his was slightly better, but still, not great and NOT the foot rub we'd come for.

Like a lot of other foot massage places the price is right and this place treated me well. The facilities are clean and nothing "shady" about it. The masseuse took care of me and as long as you have your expectations in line (these are most likely not certified/licensed therapists) then you will have a great relaxing time.
